0.75 lbs – Belgian Caramel Pils
0.25 lbs – Briess Caramel 120
6 lbs – Pilsen LME
1 lb – Light Pilsen DME
1 oz – Chinook Hop Pellets (60 min)
1 tsp – Irish Moss (15 min)
0.5 tsp – Yeast Nutrient (15 min)
0.5 oz – Chinook Hop Pellets (10 min)
0.5 oz – Chinook Hop Pellets (1 min)
1 oz – Chinook Hop Pellets (dry hopped in secondary)
Specialty grains steeped for 20 min
Shook to aerate
O.G.: 1.052, 12.0 Degrees Brix
Fermented with Wyeast 1056 American Ale Yeast at 68 Degrees F
01/18/2014 – Racked to Secondary
Added 0.5 oz of Chinook Hop Pellets to an infuser, wet with vodka to expand the pellets (to avoid them compressing in the infuser), and hung in the beer. This will spend one week in the beer.
01/28/2014 – Added the final dry hops
Removed the first 0.5 oz of dry hops from the infuser and added another 0.5 oz of Chinook Hop Pellets for a total of 1.0 oz dry hop. This will spend about 1 week in the secondary.
02/01/2014 – Racked to a keg
